CISA offers two virtual security courses

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s Federal Cyber Defense Skilling Academy is offering two one-week online courses for active duty members in transition in December.  Veterans can choose either the “Introduction to Pen-Testing” or “Introduction to Incident Response” course.

Keith Cassant, a Military Transition Roundtable advisor and student, said both classes begin Dec. 16.

Cassant, the CISA’s veterans program manager, said military members need their supervisor’s approval and signature on their application.  Cassant, a former Army noncom, said he suggests that military members also ask their commander for permissive TDY to attend the course.

The deadline for their application is Dec. 12.

“The academy is to provide widely recognized training for full-time government employees to protect, defend, respond and reduce risk to our nation’s critical infrastructure,” Cassant noted.
