American Legion posts throughout Texas are accepting applications for the 2025 Boys State program.

“Texas Boys State is a selective and once-in-a-lifetime capstone leadership experience held at the University of Texas at Austin. From June 8-13, 2025, over 1,200 of the best-and-brightest male rising seniors from across Texas will come together to practice the science and art of self-government,” said Rich Huntley, the Texas American Legion event manager.

High school students who wish to become a “Statesman” can go this weblink to learn more about the application.

Huntley said prospective Statesman should also make sure to have a school nominator as part of their process..  He adds the American Legion posts in a student’s community will screen each applicant and fund those they wish to select for the summer program.
