Through the years, the Military Transition Roundtable team have answered questions on veterans’ benefits. Working with veterans of all ages and experiences, we have helped them get valid info from the Veterans Administration. During our work, we also have heard some veterans tell us what we would term wrong information, courtesy of what we would term as the barracks’ transition counselor. These people provide others in transition with either wrong or somewhat half-true information.
As veteran assistance coaches, we wanted to create a virtual information portal to answer those commonly asked questions.
Several months ago, we conducted an interactive video interview with Tyrone Hewitt. A retired Navy chief petty officer and now a military family life specialist, Hewitt helps fellow veterans find the answers to questions about their benefits. Through his ongoing work on LinkedIn, we found he has demonstrated a true passion for helping others.
Recognizing that online users prefer a shorter “Tik Tok” approach to information, we edited this 14-minute video and converted it into shorter answers that address the seven most common questions we have encountered.
If you are a veteran, we hope these videos will help you get what some may term as the “straight poop” on how to begin getting your VA benefits.
